Kell Brook confirms immediate retirement


Former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook has confirmed he will retire from professional boxing immediately at the age of 36.

Sheffield’s Brook debuted professionally in September 2004 and retired with a 40-3 (28 KO) record.

In what has been confirmed to be the last of his career, Kell Brook stopped longtime rival Amir Khan for six rounds at Manchester Arena in February.

Brook’s team negotiated with representatives of Chris Eubank Jr about a duel between the pair, but Brook chose to sign up with his personally satisfying victory over Khan.

On what his coronation night was, Kell Brook overcame Shawn Porter via majority decision in Carson in 2014 to claim the IBF Welterweight title – a belt he successfully defended three times. before being dethroned by Errol Spence at Brammall Lane in 2017.
