Joseph Parker Releases Derek Chisora Many Times, Earn Decision Victory
“Derek is a tough guy and never stops competing until the end,” heavyweight Joseph Parker declared after beating Derek Chisora in their Saturday rematch at Manchetser AO Arena. “He was the hero of the sport of boxing,” Parker continued, “and the crowd panicked when he walked out – they just wanted to support him.” Inevitably, crowds of Englishmen showed up to watch their countryman, Chisora, run the business. Chisora didn’t come away with a win, but he and Parker certainly put on a good performance.
Parker controlled the tempo for the first time. Chisora landed well in the second… but so did Parker. In fact, it’s Parker who manages to take down his enemies throughout the chapter. Chisora is traumatized by her man in season three, but continues to fight recklessly – a sign of things to come. Parker put his man down the rope in the fourth installment. Chisora survived, and had a much better fifth. He then went up against Parker in season six.
However, Parker defeated Chisora in season seven. Yet again, Chisora got up and performed in an amusing manner. Things calmed down a bit in season eight, as both men threw heavy leather goods. However, before the round was over, Chisora fell on the rope again… but again, Chisora survived the round. Parker fought patiently in the ninth round, while Chisora was able to stay unscathed. By the tenth, however, Chisora was fighting actively.
Feeling the fight was essentially his own, Parker decided to go sailing on the eleventh, allowing Chisora to make good ground. Parker fired and landed effectively at the twelfth minute. Chisora responded kindly, but it wasn’t enough to drag the win. Parker walked out of the ring with a unanimous decision on his background, with permission from the judges.
