Join the Rider on the IMTBike South Spain Andalusia Tour, October 15-23
Scott Moreno, US-born owner of IMTBikeSpain-based motorcycle rental and tour company, has one of the most contagious personalities of many people I have met over the years in the motor industry.
Born in New York City and raised in upstate New Jersey, Moreno studied abroad in Spain. After getting his MBA, he made a good living in currency trading, but he was miserable. When a friend asked him what he liked to do, he said “ride a motorbike and have adventures.” So in 1997, Scott bought eight BMW motorcycles and started Iberian Moto Tours (formerly IMTBike) from his apartment in Madrid.

This year, IMTBike celebrates its 25th anniversary. Through the hard work of Moreno and his team, the company has grown to more than two dozen employees, offices located in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Málaga and Lisbon, and a fleet of BMW motorcycles largest in the world – the last 200 (IMTBike is an Official Partner of BMW Motorrad). In 2021, IMTBike won the TripAdvisor traveler’s “Best of the Best” award.
IMTBike specializes in tours of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), but it also offers tours in France, Italy, the Alps, and Morocco, as well as MotoGP tours (Catalunya). , Jerez and Valencia) and tours in Turkey, Thailand, Japan and New Zealand.
To help IMTBike celebrate “25 years of Magic”, RiderEditor-in-Chief Greg Drevenstedt and his wife Carrie will join Moreno on his tour of Southern Spain Andalusia this fall, October 15 to 23. The tour begins and ends at Málaga, on Spain’s famous Costa del Sol (“Sun Coast”) on the Mediterranean Sea.
The 9-day tour includes seven days of horseback riding, a day of rest (in Seville) and days of traveling at either end. Here is the itinerary:
- 1 day: To Malaga
- Day 2: Málaga – Costa del Sol – Sierra Nevada – Granada
- Day 3: Granada – Córdoba
- 4th: Cordoba – Seville
- Day 5: Seville – holiday
- 6th: Seville – White Town
- 7th: White Town – Ronda
- Day 8: Ronda – Serrania de Ronda – Málaga
- 9th: Flying house
We recommend arriving a few days early to familiarize yourself with the time zone and explore Málaga, one of the oldest cities in Europe, full of history, culture and vitality. Walk the city streets and visit Alcazaba, a magnificent Moorish fortress built in the 11th century.
The Andalusian region is home to some of Spain’s most famous cities, including Seville, Córdoba and Granada, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Stay in Spain’s famous Paradors – castles, monasteries, fortresses and other historic buildings converted into luxury hotels. Parador in Ronda stands on the edge of a cliff and beside Plaza de Toros (bullring), and the town is surrounded by the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.
On this tour, you’ll visit Spain’s iconic “White Town”, villages filled with whitewashed houses, and you’ll taste Andalusian cuisine, famous for its jamón Iberico pata negra (black leg Iberian ham) and delicious tapas. You’ll also get fills of curves and thirties in the Grazalema Mountains and the Sierra Nevada.
You don’t want to miss this tour. Prices start at just 3,225 euros (about $3,450), and include transfers to/from the airport, motorbike rental (BMW G 310 R), accommodation, eight breakfasts and seven dinners. Choosing a larger motorbike, one more passenger and one room for one person will increase the price.
