Joe Joyce drops Christian Hammer multiple times, blocking him four times

While he can certainly look sluggish in the ring, there’s no doubt heavyweight Joe Joyce knows how to end the show. After beating veteran boxer Christian Hammer on Saturday, Joyce made it 13-0 and set his sights on the division’s finals. While some may wonder if a slow puncher like Joyce can compete with the heaviest heavyweights, there’s no doubt the Londoner has thunder in his fist.
It’s been almost a year since Joyce entered a professional league match when he stepped into the ring at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to face the 27-9 Hammer. Needless to say, ring rust is not a problem. Both men landed cleanly, but it was Joyce who endured the opponent’s shots. On the third time, Hammer was defeated. He got up, but a brutal body attack in the fourth round sent Hammer being thrown to the carpet three more times, eventually stopping the match.
Now, 36-year-old Joyce, who is nicknamed “Juggernaut” is aiming to take on the team’s big names. “It’s good to be back,” he said afterwards. With Hammer gone, Joyce made her intentions clear. “I’m at the top level, I’m ready for the world stage,” he said. “I’ve got a warm-up game right now so I’m ready for action.”
