Jockey Club Scholarship Application Form


The Jockey Club announced on November 15 that applications are open for its academic scholarship year. The scholarships will apply for the academic year 2023-24 and are as follows:

The Jockey Club Scholarship ($15,000; $7,500 per semester) is open to students pursuing an academic major for future employment in the equine industry. For any horse breed or discipline; Preference will be given to candidates who express a desire to secure employment in the Thoroughbred industry.

The Jockey Club Women’s Advancement in Horse Racing Scholarship ($20,000; $10,000 per semester) is open to women pursuing a career in the horse industry who are enrolled full-time as a student. undergraduate or graduate degree at a college or university. For any horse breed or discipline; Preference will be given to candidates who express a desire to secure employment in the Thoroughbred industry.

The Jockey Club Vision Scholarship ($20,000; $10,000 per semester) is open to racial or ethnic minority students pursuing a career in the horse industry. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university. For any horse breed or discipline; Preference will be given to candidates who express a desire to secure employment in the Thoroughbred industry.

The Jockey Club Charity Scholarship ($15,000; $7,500 per semester) is a need-based award to enable students to enter a full-time program at a college, university, or trade program. Preference will be given to equine and equine farm employees and their family members. Applicants are not required to pursue a career in the equine or Thoroughbred industry.

The Jockey Club Jack Goodman Scholarship ($6,000; $3,000 per semester) is available to students enrolled in the University of Arizona Track Industry Program (RTIP). Goodman is a resident of Tucson, a longtime member of The Jockey Club, and one of the three founders of RTIP.

Applications for all five scholarships are currently open until February 1, 2023. More information and links to applications for the scholarships can be found. here. The recipients of each scholarship will be announced in the spring of 2023 prior to the initial distribution of funds for the fall semester of 2023.
