We’re really in 2022 now, predict Trend S/S 22 hit the runway this past fall is really starting to materialize (especially in the form of celebrity sightings). The latest celebrity to be an early adopter of the spring trend is predicted to be Jennifer Lopez, who went shopping with her daughter this weekend at The Grove.
Although miniskirts have been particularly noticeable after appearing on many spring runways (and on Kendall Jenner, most recently), maxi dresses have indeed caused an equal amount of buzz in the fashion world after being seen on the S/S 22 catwalk by Chanel, Gabriela Hearst and Chloé, to name a few. And it is worth noting that the type of skirt that does not resonate in this fashion season is the midi skirt. (Though, it could certainly be argued that it’s a classic as opposed to a trend at the moment.)
For her shopping trip, Lopez opted for a layered maxi dress that also caught on with a number of other trends, including denim, patchwork and western-inspired fabrics. Clearly choosing to capture the theme (as she usually does), she paired a trendy skirt with a cropped cardigan, tassel Chanel bag and western boots.
