How to Fix Your iPhone (2022): Simple Solutions to Common iPhone Problems

  1. Start by making sure that your iPhone and Bluetooth accessory are fully charged, powered on, and close to each other.
  2. Read on to your device or Bluetooth system, make sure you know how the pairing works, and make your device discoverable (you have to hold a button sometimes).
  3. Go Setting, Bluetooth on your iPhone, make sure it’s turned on, find the device you want to connect to in the list and tap it.
  4. You may have to enter a PIN or passcode.
  5. Some Bluetooth accessories use an app on your iPhone. If so, go to Setting, Privacy, Bluetooth, and make sure you have Bluetooth enabled for the app.
  6. If a previously connected device doesn’t seem to work, try unpairing the device. Go Setting, Bluetooth on your iPhone and tap the info button next to the device in question, tap Forget this device, then try pairing again.
  7. If you still can’t connect to your iPhone, try connecting with another phone or tablet to make sure the problem isn’t with your accessory or Bluetooth system. There is sometimes a limit to the number of connections you can have, so consult the manufacturer of your Bluetooth device to find out if this is the case and how you can remove old connections. We have a separate guide for Bluetooth headset troubleshooting.
  8. Try connecting another Bluetooth device to your iPhone to see if that works.
  9. If the problem seems to be with your iPhone and nothing has worked so far, it’s time contact Apple support.

My iPhone screen is broken

We all know the fear when you check your iPhone screen for cracks after a single bump. Broken or cracked screens are very common. While your iPhone may still work, it’s a good idea to have your screen repaired as soon as possible to avoid further injury or damage. Here are your options:

  1. Contact Apple and make an appointment to bring your iPhone to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Genius Bar. You may have the option to schedule an on-site repair when someone comes to your home or office. You can also send your iPhone to a service center for repair, but that means you won’t have it for a while. Official Apple repairs are also expensive. (It costs $279 for an out-of-warranty iPhone 13, for example.)
  2. Find a trusted third-party repair shop, like New York City’s iPhone Doctor. Just make sure you do your homework and read the reviews first. And, if possible, have them fix it in front of you.
  3. If you find it convenient, you can always try to repair it yourself. Detailed instructions and repair kits can be found at i fix it and other places. After a lot of pressure, Apple is finally making it easier to repair your iPhone, but probably most people shouldn’t try – it’s easy to make a bad situation worse.
  4. You may be tempted just business or sell your iPhone, but we strongly recommend fixing it first. While some services will buy damaged iPhones, the amount they spend on a broken screen will far outweigh the cost of the repair.
  5. Whatever you repair, consider getting one iPhone case, screen protector, or both, so it doesn’t happen anymore.
