Progressive American Flat Track master JD Beach (No. 95 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07 DT) added another chapter to his legend by reigning supreme at Saturday’s ZO CBD Arizona Super TT presented by RideNow Powersports displayed at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona.
Beach, who has now won seven of the eight most recent Super Twin Missions presented by the S&S Cycle TT Main Event, has finally proven worthy of being the favorite of the late. week. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to work for this one.
That work began in the opening corner of the race after initially falling to third place behind defending Grand National champion Jared Mees (No. 1 Indian Motorcycle/Rogers Racing/SDI Racing FTR750) and first-place finisher. Dallas Daniels score (No. 32 Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07) DT).
The most dangerous moment for Beach came when Daniels took control two minutes into the main half. Daniels is in good form – who actually made it through to Beach’s qualifier earlier in the day – looking to create an advantage while his teammate was stuck behind Mees on a track with little chance of passing. and plenty of opportunities to mess up.
Almost exactly a minute later, Beach (literally) overtook Mees in the jump start to take second place. And almost exactly a minute later, he grabbed a carbon copy of Daniels’ high-flying move to claim the lead for himself.
Daniels did a great job of keeping Beach honest as they left the rest of the yard after waking up. However, he eventually gave up the chase with a few minutes left, content to finish second.
JD Beach – P1
“Growing up, I was told you had to be smart or stupid, and I chose to be stupid. I went for it. No, it was a great race. I know Dallas has my number all day long. He rides a horse very well. All season, he delivered mail. I felt angry because we were on the same bike and he hit my ass. Today, I have to thank my crew. They worked very hard all day long. We were in a passive position, but they didn’t give up. They keep working, and that’s what I did in the Main Event as well.”
Behind Estenson Racing 1-2, Mees finished third with Briar Bauman (No. 3 Parts Plus / Jacob Companies KTM 890 Duke) in a determined chase. That was until Mees’ machine became unstable on impact and then lost control. Although Mees did an admirable job of cleaning up and assembling the Indian factory as quickly as possible, he still lost a few positions after the incident.
That lifted Bauman to second podium after four starts on Rick Ware Racing KTM. It also rewarded Ben Lowe (No. 25 Rackley Racing/Mission Foods Indian FTR750) and Johnny Lewis (No. 10 Moto Anatomy X Powered by Royal Enfield 650) for fourth and fifth place respectively.
Mees took sixth place and was joined by Davis Fisher (No. 67 Rackley Racing / Bob Lanphere’s BMC Racing Indian FTR750), Bronson Bauman (No. 37 Fastrack Racing / 2 Wheelz KTM 890 Duke), Kolby Carlile (No. 36 G&G Racing). / Yamaha Racing Yamaha MT-07) and Ryan Wells (No. 94 Moto Anatomy X Powered by Royal Enfield 650) in the bottom half of the top 10.
The hopeful Brandon Robinson (44 Mission Roof Systems Indian FTR750) was scratched in the Main Event after falling during practice earlier in the day.
After four of 18 races, Daniels led with 92 points, followed by Beach (73), Mees (71) and Bauman (62).

AFT Singles Unlimited by KICKER
The 2019 Parts Unlimited AFT single performed by KICKER champion Dalton Gauthier (No. 79 D&D Racing/KTM 450 SX-F Certification) closes by one point from the ’23 lead. precision and patience to win at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
Gauthier established himself as the favorite with a strong showing before the race but ended up falling behind Chad Cose (First Impressive 49th Team / Husqvarna Racing FC450) from the start after Cose’s run. down from outside Row 1 to claim the lead from the opening corner of the race.
Gauthier sat close to Cose’s rear wheel as they circled the track in a sleek line, hoping to find or force the leader to make a mistake. All the while, Gauthier faced similar heat from behind, with a long string of racers jostling behind them, led by Kody Kopp (No. 1 Red Bull KTM Factory Racing 450 SX-F) , who is supported by Max Whale (No.18 Red Bull KTM Factory Racing 450 SX-F) and Trevor Brunner (No. 21 Estenson Racing Yamaha YZ450F).
As soon as the race reached the middle distance, Gauthier moved, landing along – and inside the Cose as they completed a jump and slid into the next left-hander.
Kopp tries to slide under Cose at the same time but is denied. While Kopp et al. rallied to plot another attack, Gauthier had a two-second lead ahead. The defending champion finally entered the interior of the Cose a few minutes later and was overtaken by Whale and Brunner participating.
A late red flag added to the possibility of some unexpected drama for a race that appeared to be over when Andrew Luker (No. 11 Rackley Racing / Keeran Racing Yamaha YZ450F) was hit with the clocks down. 10 seconds.
That set the stage for a staggered restart and three-round shootout. However, Gauthier successfully survived his second debut and claimed his first checkered flag of the season. The win is his third TT win of his career and sees him remain the only driver in the field to finish on the podium in every race this season.
Kopp kept second to maintain his score against Gauthier (86-85) although Whale in third and Brunner in fourth put maximum pressure in the final laps.
Kody Kopp – P2
“We definitely pedaled hard, gave it our all on the track! I made it through the eighth qualifying round, which is my second worst performance of the year, and we had to dig our own holes to get out. I got my first pick in the second row for Main, and it was probably one of the better starts of my career. That helped me a lot, because I had the speed, but couldn’t start earlier. I finished third in the first four minutes of the race, made a really risky Chad Cose pass on turn one, and made it over – that’s all I got! Sometimes you have to take what you can get, can’t push it too much on a rough track, so hats off to my team for this P2, we’re still a championship lead. points and still have the red disc. “
Max Whale – P3
“I got through to the second qualifying round, finishing second in my Heat race and I feel like the track today really only had one row. The beginnings were very different between the two, so I had a rough start all day and had to push through… We were fourth in Dash and third in Main, just running out of room to pass and it’s just tough out there in this one.
Chase Saathoff (No. 88 American Honda/Mission Foods CRF450R) finished the top five, followed by Hayden Gillim (No. Comstock Energy/Vance & Hines KTM 450 SX-F), who overcame a crash in the heat. bounce to get to first place. LCQ to finally take sixth place.
Cose was the biggest loser in the red flag reshuffle, placing ninth after leading the first half of the race and running in the top two for most of the competition.
