Jarvis tops Romaniacs for the third day to extend the lead completely

Red Bull Romaniacs 2022
Report / Results Day Three Off-Road

Graham Jarvis was rock solid to win Day 3 Offroad at the Red Bull Romaniacs, round 5 of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. Determined to show he was hungry to fight at every opportunity to win the Offroad Festival, the Briton worked all day to hold on to nearest rival Lettenbichler.

Getting closer to a historic seventh victory at the world’s toughest Hard Enduro Rallye, Jarvis emerged from the tough penultimate race day as the winner.

Graham Jarvis

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler had to finish second for the day, behind Jarvis. Sherco Factory Racing’s Mario Roman ended the second half of the day strong to finish third.

Manuel Lettenbichler

After Lettenbichler made everyone enter the contest yesterday to win in the 16th minute, Graham Jarvis wasn’t in the mood for that to happen again. With the early morning grass roads at high speed not quite what he wanted, the Husqvarna racer turned up the heat when going into more technical terrain. Pushing him to the top of two key checkpoints for the day and although Lettenbichler fought back in the closing stages, Jarvis had enough on hand to win.

The win, second of the week, saw him extend his race lead by almost 16 minutes with just one day left. Claiming the overall victory would give Graham his seventh win in the history of the Red Bull Romaniacs.

After yesterday’s max attack, Lettenbichler noticed today he doesn’t have enough power in the tank to push back at 100% speed. And with Jarvis increasing his speed, the Germans were forced to sit behind the Husqvarna rider and ride together. Moving on to sixth overall in the division, the KTM rider will aim to go all out tomorrow to win the final race.

Teodor Kabakchiev

Behind Jarvis and Lettenbichler, the battle for third place was tight between Mario Roman, Michael Walkner of GASGAS and Team Bulgaria supported by Teodor Kabakchiev of ECONT. Walkner was on a morning mission and quickly caught up with Roman. After that, the couple stayed together to finish Kabakchiev.

The pace that Roman and the Walkner are setting up is high, but Roman only needs a little replenishment in the closing stages to pull back some time on the Walkner to take third place. In the overall standings, it proved good teamwork for the duo, with Roman winning a stint above Kabakchiev in second place, while Walkner edged past FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart to advance. fourth place.

Mario Roman

This morning the speed was very fast. I felt like I was close to my limit and then when Michael Walkner caught up with me, I was amazed. But he rode well, and we got together and had a good time. We also caught up with Teodor after that and that was definitely good for the overall. “

At first I tried to catch Mario and when I caught up with him we were able to go together. We both increased our speed and used it to catch up with Teodor. It’s still pretty tight for the podium positions one more day left. I have a shot outside, so I’ll push like crazy! “

I feel better in the second half of the day. I didn’t ride well this morning. On a stretch of grass, I didn’t feel comfortable being on it due to the rocks and hidden trails and that took me a while to regroup from there. I took some time now to join the Walkner, hopefully tomorrow I can come back strong and come fourth. “

While the battles abound at the top of the leaderboards, we also see the race finish with multiple riders. Opening Tuesday, AG Racing Team 89 captains Alfredo Gomez and GASGAS Factory Racing’s Taddy Blazusiak both retired. There was also disappointment for Italy’s Sonny Goggia (KTM), who dropped to sixth overall through injury.

Round 5 of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship at Red Bull Romaniacs ends with the Final Offroad Day tomorrow 4.
