Jake Paul Still Opens With Tommy Fury Fight: “Let’s Run It Up”
The Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury saga continues to rumble even after the fight was officially canceled last week.
The contract for the former reality TV star to face the notorious American Youtuber has been signed and everything is set for the match at Madison Square Garden on August 6.
However, it was almost the war that happened. Just days after agreeing terms, Fury was denied entry to the US as he tried to board a plane for his first press conference. He was unable to sort out his visa issues and the pay-per-view battle in Showtimes was questioned.
Paul finally had enough time to wait and go on social media to confirm that he has switched replacing British light heavyweight with Hasim Rahman Jr.
Doesn’t take much time video footage appeared of two sparring each other. It’s no wonder ‘The Problem Child’ released footage showing him landing his heavy right arm on the son of former world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman Sr.
Another clip then appeared about the two engage in a heated conflict after what looks like that session.
Jake Paul on the possible Tommy Fury fight outside the US
Although this is the second time the fight has taken place with Fury, Paul admits he still hasn’t completely closed the fight.
When ask on TMZ if he ever considered fighting Tommy outside of America, he replied:
“You know, I’m considering doing that after August 6.”
“I want to fight at Madison Square Garden so the show has to go on whether Tommy Fury is in the arena or not.”
“I don’t wait for people, I don’t need to wait around.”
He went on to question Fury’s desire to do the fight:
“I told Tommy I’ll give him $500k and we can fight in a neutral position after August 6, let’s run it.”
“So we’ll see what he has to say.”
“I just didn’t think he would want to fight me.”
