“It’s Like Moving From Lada To Porsche”: Ukrainian Soldier Compares Soviet Cannon to Polish Krab
Ukraine is gradually eliminating its stockpile of old weapons and equipment from the Soviet era. The latest change comes when Poland gives Ukraine 18 Autonomous howler “AHS Krab” own. It seems that this 155 mm NATO standard weapon made a strong impression on the Ukrainians.

Currently, Ukraine has very few Krabs, but its crews are satisfied with modernized weapons. Especially the content is that the soldiers switched to the new Krab from the Soviet self-propelled artillery.
“We used Msta-WORLD before. The Krab system is much easier to master. Everything is controlled electronically. Press the button and aim. You enter the number, press a button, and that’s it,” a Krab crew member told reporters.
“Compare Krab with Msta-S, this one is faster – it can go 60-70 km/h. speed It can maneuver and respond well to the movements of the driver. The Msta-S is controlled by a handlebar, this one by a steering wheel. That’s better,” said the car driver.
“If the Msta-S is a Lada, this is a Porsche,” added another soldier, who explained that the Krab allows for much faster targeting with less effort and effort.
And this is not surprising. The “Krab” is a modern weapon, created circa 2000 and produced since 2008 (admittedly discontinued from 2008-2011). Poland currently has 62 such self-propelled artillery vehicles, but has plans to expand its arsenal. Of course, the artillery produced now will be sent to Ukraine, a country that urgently needs them.
