Is this the best travel tripod of 2023?
A good travel tripod can be one of the most important pieces of accessories you own, especially if you’re on the go. Is this little tripod the new king of the tough tripod group?
Honestly, I’ve had a tough relationship with tripods. When I bought my first camera, I was given a 30 year old tripod by a family member and thought it would be fine; it will not. In the end, I invested in a modern and expensive tripod and realized my mistake. As my photography evolved and I gravitated towards certain styles and genres, I needed less tripods. In fact, the only times I tend to need one are in my studio, which is easy, or when I’m traveling, it’s hard.
The Peak Design tripod I use isn’t large, but it’s bulky and heavy — which is what I wanted since I often have to load a heavy object on top of it. That doesn’t work at all when you’re traveling, especially on short trips, and carrying it on your back is a no-brainer. I often have to do short business trips and need a tripod, so that’s an issue I’m struggling to talk to.
This Ulanzi F38 tripod reviewed by TKNORTH is not only lighter than Peak Design’s carbon fiber travel tripod, but it’s also almost half the price. The question is, is it better?
