Is the Frisco dog pool holdable?

Dog pools are a great choice for exercise and nourishment during the hot summer months. But they can also take a little getting used to, especially for our scared and anxious pups. As the famous proverb says, You can take your dog into the water, but you can’t always make it swim. . . At least not immediately. It takes a lot of patience sometimes, and a pool can definitely handle the reps (and those sharp claws) when you let your puppy loose.

Even if your dog doesn’t need convincing, you still want Dog-only swimming pool without being chopped easily. That’s why we tested both the rating and the review Yaheetech foldable hard plastic dog poolas well as a similar newbie on the scene, Frisco in Hawaii Dog Pool. In a surprising turn of events, one person failed the test, while the other was a better bet than the rest.

Do you need a swimming pool for your dog?

Contrary to popular belief, Not all dogs can swim right away or feel instantly comfortable in the water. Others may enjoy getting their feet wet in creeks, lakes and rivers but hate getting in the tub to shower. Dog pools are a great way to bridge that gap and give puppies more options and comfort before throwing them into the abyss.

That’s where my scared teenage dog Roo came in. At 1.5 years old, he is simultaneously the most stubborn and fearsome puppy I know. She’s also working through some of the reactions, so we couldn’t give her much of a chance to explore local watering holes.

I wanted to find a quality pool so that she would have more contact with the water. I knew we were going to have to take it slow and make the pool really fun with different activities like push-ups, running and jumping before adding in the water. I needed a pool that was powerful enough to handle our reps but also flexible in case we needed to pivot and use it as a dugout or other form of recreation.

So we unpacked the pools, broke the games and toys, slowly added water, and put both to the test.

Yaheetech & Frisco Dog Pools: Specifications

The Yaheetech dog pool and Frisco’s swimming pool both have a foldable design that doesn’t have to be unfolded and is easy to store. They also offer an XL size that measures 12 x 55 inches—perfect when the Roo is pushing 45 pounds and surprisingly long for the Lab/Terrier mix. Weight for each pool is roughly the same, with the Frisco being slightly heavier at 13.86 pounds compared to Yaheetech’s 12.35 pounds. Other similarities include:

  • PVC as main material
  • Wrapped edges to help prevent punctures
  • a lower drain valve for quick water removal
  • bonus patch kits for future repairs (*insert omen here)

Apparently, the vivid Hawaiian print of the Frisco pool is a stark contrast to the Yaheetech’s solid red color, also available in black, blue and gray. Frisco dog pools also only come in larger sizes (XL and XXL), while Yaheetech’s sizes range from M to XXL. Yaheetech also has a number of additional perks, including:

  • non-slip bottom
  • frost and UV resistant coating
  • one line fill max
  • pet brush

Yaheetech & Frisco Dog Pool Test

In the first phase of Roo’s testing and familiarization with the new pools, I installed them inside and filled them with toys and pool balls. We played a game where she would jump in and out of the pool and look for and sniff out hidden treats. Roo enjoyed both pools equally, had no trouble getting in and out of either side, and even chose to curl up inside them to play with his toys or take a nap.

After a few days, I moved the pools out and we repeated the process again, slowly adding water little by little. While we were still working on building Roo’s confidence to jump into a full pool, we were able to test both pools by filling them up and letting her bounce around to find toys from the side. edge.

Yaheetech dog pool vs. Frisco: Result

Honestly, I thought Yaheetech would blow the Frisco dog pool out of the water when it was built. It is currently rated 4.4 stars with over 6,000 reviews. Plus, there’s all the extra details like the non-slip bottom and UV protection that make it up seem like it would have a nicer frame.

But when I set up the two pools, I immediately noticed that the Frisco dog pool did a great job of keeping its shape with very little water — or even no water at all. However, the edges of the Yaheetech pool fold slightly like an accordion when empty or partially filled. Other reviewers also note that the sides tend to cave a bit when the water doesn’t reach the marked line.

The seams of the Frisco pool are neat and tidy, too, while the Yaheetech dog pool has a seam with a long plastic end that dangles at the bottom — not exactly the built-in pull toy you want in dog swimming pool. Not to mention that the Yaheetech dog pool has a very strong plastic smell for the first few days after opening (not ideal when using your indoor pool).

Then came the final breakthrough: in the final round of testing, the Yaheetech pool emitted a leak where the bottom met the edges. Fortunately, the patches provided made it easy to fix and we were back in business right away. But it sucks to discover a leak so quickly, and it makes me wary of how much wear and tear it can handle in the future. The Frisco dog pool, on the other hand, has no rips or leaks and is held firmly from the start.

Recommendation: Eligible to Frisco dog pool in Hawaii

And recommend to go to. . . the Frisco in Hawaii dog pool! Who doesn’t love a good-hearted story below?

Roo in the Frisco dog pool

Roo appeared satisfied with his choice.

Here’s what I like about Frisco compared to the Yaheetech pool:

  • It stays in shape even when empty or partially filled, making it easy to follow Roo’s pace.
  • Designed to resist all of Roo’s sniffing, slapping, and jumping movements—Manufacturing it can be used in a variety of ways such as making a notebook or digging a hole.
  • The seams are clean, with no loose fabric that might tempt the curious.
  • It has no smell and didn’t give me a headache when I first opened it. I feel comfortable using it immediately inside.
  • Super cute and vibrant pattern, replacing the typical colors of most dog pools.

Here’s what I don’t like about it:

  • It is only available in larger sizes, which can be inconvenient for parents with smaller dogs or limited space.
  • Even though the drain valve is lower, I still have to tip to the sides of the tank to get all the water out.
  • Although the bottom is textured, it doesn’t have the same anti-slip thickness as the Yaheetech dog pool.
  • It does not provide maximum fill current, which I think is a nice touch for Yaheetech pools.

Despite this slight apprehension, I was impressed with the way the Frisco team kept our path and Roo’s paws. More than just a beautiful design, this pool is a great choice for pet parents who want both style and stability in a dog pool. And mefa Hawaii print doesn’t suit your decor theme, Frisco also has fun designs in Flamingo and rubber duck.

If you have a smaller dog and want something more compact and portable, V-HANVER and Alvantor dog pool are solid choices, both features in our compilation”The best dog pools that can hold up to splashing fangs. ”
