Game Of Throne fans got the chance to snap their very own Iron Throne selfie as the Iron Throne replica arrived at the Tower of London.

The new and improved chair – 10ft high and 12ft wide – was unveiled in front of the White Tower ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated vehicle Game of Thrones prequel – The House Of The Dragon – in a few weeks.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire And Blood and set two centuries before the events of Game Of Thrones, House Of The Dragon chronicles the beginnings of the end of House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Civil War. Targaryen, known as the Dance of the Dragon.

In the books, the seat of the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms was forged from the blades of the enemies who defeated Aegon Targaryen, melted together by the fiery breath of a dragon after he conquered Westeros.

After two days at the Tower of London – a historic fortress built by William the Conqueror nearly 1,000 years ago, following his own bloody War of Conquest – the throne will move to Leicester Square for the premiere of House Of The Dragon next week.

It will then tour the country throughout August, visiting locations including Cardiff and Edinburgh.

Tower’s famous Beefeaters, cosplay super fan and Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson were among the first to be photographed in the iconic chair.

Jamie East, co-host of Sky Atlantic’s Thronecast and House Of The Dragon Premiere Special, said: “Set 200 years before the events of Game Of Thrones, House Of The Dragon will transport fans to Westeros at its peak. of Targaryen rule.

“We will discover an Iron Throne of much greater scale and decay, made from the warped and melted swords of Targaryen’s defeated enemies, symbolizing strength and enormous Targaryen influence at this time.”

House Of The Dragon stars Doctor Who stars Carpenter as Prince Daemon Targaryen, younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne, while Olivia Cooke plays Alicent Hightower, daughter of Otto Hightower, hand of the king.

House Of The Dragon will air on Sky and the Now streaming service from Monday, August 22
