Intimate landscapes and cities with the Sony 70-200mm F/2.8 G Master II
Telephoto lenses have a unique appeal in landscape photography. How does Sony G Master’s new telephoto zoom feature affect the way you shoot?
Telephoto lenses have always been a must-have for me when shooting landscapes and cityscapes. They always allow me to find unique perspectives that are not as obvious as with wide angle lenses. Especially since the pandemic began and mobility was limited, the telephoto lens has allowed me to find distant subjects from any vantage point I can reach. The extended range can do a lot of help with framing and isolation that wider lenses can’t, and in any open space, a telephoto lens expands the possibilities you can do in isolating the subject and emphasizing beautiful patterns.
In this video, I take the new one Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master version II I went out to take a few photos, in which I shot cityscapes, early morning mountaintop scenes, and some long-exposure minimalist landscapes. In the process of taking those pictures, I tested how good the overall image quality, low-light focusing, and focusing ability was with the heavy neutral density filters, and generally How the relatively lighter version might affect the way I shoot.
