Images show heavy rain and severe flooding in the United Arab Emirates


Storms and heavy rains have caused flooding in several Gulf countries, leading to closed Tuesday of Dubai Airport – one of the busiest airports in the world.

The United Arab Emirates, often known for its hot weather, is said to have seen over 100 mm of rain in a 24-hour period in some places, marking a 75-year record since since the country started recording rainfall.

Local authorities also issued a red alert and closed offices, schools and banks. The storm hit other parts of the Middle East, killing at least 19 people in Oman due to flooding. according to local media.
