I’ll go for the ‘modest’ Jake Paul
Jake Paul is getting ready to fight Tommy Fury on August 6 at Madison Square Garden.
The contract for the former reality TV star to face the aggressive American Youtuber has been signed and the first press conference has been scheduled. However, it was almost as if we were used to fighting. Things began to fall apart when Fury tried to board a plane for the press in the US but was denied entry.
Fury’s use of his visa problems as a reason for the fight fell into doubt after his father, John Fury, shocked Disclosure to DAZN that’s his son “Inaccurate in training” for bouts and that he was “overweight”:
“To be precise, Tommy has no training.”
“He only had about 10 days because he was on vacation and that was a surprise for him.”
“I know you can get fatter, you’re overweight, but it’s totally up to you because I’m busy and I can’t do it.”
Tommy soon came out and refuted his father’s “bull” claims, saying:
“Recently on social media, I see more of myself than ever before.”
“I just want to say one thing straight, the reason this war isn’t happening is because I can’t enter the country [US]. “
“It’s not because I don’t exercise or I’m unwell.”
“So all this gaur about me not being ready, not training, forget it. If it’s not from me, don’t believe it because it’s not true. “
Last week, Paul confirmed he had moved on and replaced Brit with Hasim Rahman Jr for Showtime Pay-Per-View.
Predictably, it didn’t take long for footage of the two to appear. Initially, a clip emerged in which the YouTuber was seen landing his heavy right arm towards the son of former world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman Sr.
Another clip was later leaked showing the two engaging in a heated argument after what looked like that session.
Hasim Rahman JR sends a message to Jake Paul
Since confirming the new opponent, Rahman JR has been somewhat silent so far. He came Live on Instagram to answer questions from his followers.
When asked if he would change his tactics after the match footage was leaked, he hinted at his game plan:
“You know what time it is. No play no game.”
“Bring him down. Take him down. Take him down. “
“I’m not changing my game plan.”
“Why did I change?”
He went on to send a message to his opponent:
“He [Paul] need to be humble. He needs some humble pie.”
When asked why Paul believes he is at his level and wants to fight, Rahman replied:
“Defeat me. It was he who said it that he was mad.”
The two will have their first press conference on Tuesday, July 11.
