Ikelite announces case for Nikon Z8

Ikelite is out its housing give Nikon Z8, the recently launched “baby Z9” packs nearly all the features of Nikon’s flagship mirrorless camera in a smaller and more travel-friendly form factor. The Z8 is built around the same 45.7MP stacked CMOS sensor and EXPEED 7 image processor found in the Z9, featuring the Z9’s 3D-tracking autofocus system that shoots RAW images continuously at high speeds. at 20fps and shoot both 8K/60p in N-RAW (Nikon-exclusive, 12-bit compressed RAW format) and 4K/120p from 8.3K (subsampling) movie recording.

Ikelite’s full-featured case for the Z8 features the company’s Dry Lock (DL) port system and boasts an ABS-PC body with a transparent back; oversized joystick for shutter release and autofocus; and manually activate the strobe light via the Ikelite baffle. Of course, like every house in Ikelite, you have the option of adding DL1 DS . Link TTL Converter for TTL auto strobe exposure with quick switching between manual and TTL. The case also features an M16 accessory port, which can be used to add innovative Ikelite accessories. USB charging and data transfer baffleso you never have to take the camera out of the case.

Check before diving

There’s nothing more secure than being able to see your camera and o-ring through the back of the case. Our signature open-groove design hangs the rear o-ring in a natural position, making it easier to maintain and more reliable than tying the o-ring to the groove. When the case is closed, you can see the o-ring forming a sturdy, waterproof gasket.

We recommend using a metered pump to vacuum the housing and check for leaks before putting it in the water.

The construction

Our specially formulated ABS-PC composite housing is highly durable yet significantly lighter than aluminum. Bright colors keep your camera cooler when shooting in warm sunny environments.

Lens support

Ikelite lens ports are the lightest on the market, yet sturdy and capable of withstanding rough ocean waves.

We support a wide range of lenses. Most popular zoom lenses and selective focus rings can be used using a simple gear wheel that puts adjustments at your fingertips. The zoom and focus gears vary depending on the type of lens you are using.

Wi-Fi transmission

Use the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi feature to download photos to another device without removing the camera from the case. The Wi-Fi feature is only available on water within close proximity of the connected device.

Unless otherwise noted, this case does not support the use of additional grips, battery grips, eyepieces, LCD caps, or other accessories.

Differences in lens and control positions prevent other camera models from being used or adapted to this case. We are not aware of any other models that could be used or adapted to this housing.
