Ikelite announced its housing give Canon EOS R824MP entry-level full-frame hybrid camera that borrows the title video specs of its more expensive sibling, the camera EOS R6 Mark II: oversampled full-width 4K video from 6K recording at up to 60p, as well as the ability to record footage in 10-bit 4:2:2 color.
The Ikelite case for the EOS R8 boasts an ultra-compact form factor and uses the company’s Dry Lock Micro (DLM) port system—not DL—but other than that, you get it all. Ikelite case tested features: ABS-PC body with transparent back; large, easy-to-use joystick for shutter release and autofocus; and manually activate the strobe light via the Ikelite baffle. At launch, the Canon EOS R8 in our 200DLM Waterproof Case was the most powerful compact mirrorless camera system to date. It’s as powerful as the Canon EOS R6 Mark II at half the size and weight. If you can live without a 2nd SD card slot and in-body image stabilization, then you’ll benefit from choosing this model.
Lens selection, image quality, autofocus performance, and shutter speed are the strongest points of the Canon EOS R8 system. When combined with the DS160 or DS230 flash, you can take advantage of high fps continuous shooting to capture the perfect moment of a moving subject.

Check before diving
There’s nothing more secure than being able to see your camera and o-ring through the back of the case. Our signature open-groove design hangs the rear o-ring in a natural position, making it easier to maintain and more reliable than tying the o-ring to the groove. When the case is closed, you can see the o-ring forming a sturdy, waterproof gasket.
We recommend adding the optional Vacuum Kit with 1/2″ Valve #47012 to vacuum the housing and check for leaks before entering the water.
The construction
Our specially formulated ABS-PC composite housing is highly durable yet significantly lighter than aluminum. Bright colors keep your camera cooler when shooting in warm sunny environments.
Lens support
Ikelite lens ports are the lightest on the market, yet sturdy and capable of withstanding rough ocean waves.
We support a wide range of lenses. Most popular zoom lenses and selective focus rings can be used using a simple gear wheel that puts adjustments at your fingertips. The zoom and focus gears vary depending on the type of lens you are using.

Wi-Fi transmission
Use the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi feature to download photos to another device without removing the camera from the case. The Wi-Fi feature is only available on water within close proximity of the connected device.

Unless otherwise noted, this case does not support the use of additional grips, battery grips, eyepieces, LCD caps, or other accessories.
Differences in lens and control positions prevent other camera models from being used or adapted to this case. We are not aware of any other models that could be used or adapted to this housing.
