IHG announces Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday deals; Reveal other discounts and bonus points

Many loyalty programs are rolling out deals and promotions for Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday. IHG One Rewards joined in on the fun Tuesday when it announced its “biggest membership event”.

In the message members received via email, IHG introduced some ongoing promotions and hinted at upcoming Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday deals. You can check out IHG’s landing page for offers here.

IHG’s Black Friday promotion will be an enhanced sign-up bonus for a free annual limited time IHG Rewards Traveler Credit Card.

If you are interested in adding IHG Rewards Traveler Credit Card into your wallet, you should check back on Black Friday for details on this offer. However, keep in mind that the terms and conditions of this card generally state that you cannot receive the card (or earn a bonus) if either of the following applies:

• You are an existing cardholder of an individual IHG Rewards credit card.
• You are a previous cardholder of an individual IHG Rewards credit card and you have received a new cardholder bonus for an individual IHG Rewards credit card within the last 24 months.

Considering these limitations, it might be better (even during the Black Friday promotion) to sign up IHG Rewards Premier credit card.

The IHG Rewards Premier credit card offers a signup bonus of 140,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months of account opening. Additionally, the IHG Premier card offers many perks that IHG Traveler doesn’t, including automatic Elite Platinum status and a free night worth up to 40,000 points after each account anniversary.

IHG suggested three Cyber ​​Monday promotions, two of which could be lucrative.

We don’t have any information about these promotions other than what you can see in the screenshot above. However, here’s my hunch of what we might see:

• Mysterious members only offer: I can see this happening in two ways. On one hand, IHG can offer unlimited bonus points in mystery multiples for stays you book on Cyber ​​Monday and Gift Tuesday. But on the other hand, IHG can offer the ability to buy an unlimited number of IHG points with a two-day mystery bonus.
• Save more on bonus nights: I hope IHG will launch another of its products Discounts for bonus stays of three nights or less. However, considering the term “your savings”, discounts can focus on points and cash bookings.
• Big savings on travel items: I hope this promotion will give you a discount when you redeem IHG points for items in IHG directory. But I doubt the money saved will be enough to make it a good buyback value.

Finally, IHG launched two promotions on November 22nd and will continue through December 2nd. With these promotions, you can:

• Save 10% on Save and Book Early and save on rates on stays through February 28, 2023, at participating IHG hotels and resorts.
• Get 1,000 points when you first download the IHG mobile app and log in.

Additionally, there is a Kimpton discount for bookings from November 22 to December 5, 2022, for stays at Kimpton properties in the US from November 25, 2022 to December 30. April 2023. For eligible bookings, you can get 20% off Best Rate Flexible Rate and Kimpton will donate $5 per night to No Kid Hungry.

You’ll see discounted rates when you search for stays on the IHG website or mobile app, so it’s a good idea to check upcoming stays to see if you can cancel and reset for a lower price or not. Please note, however, that many discounted rates are non-refundable or non-refundable.
