Rolando Romero made a bold prediction ahead of his game against Gervonta Davis on May 28.
‘Tank’ Davis will defend his fourth WBA lightweight title but according to the challenger, who spoke during media practice yesterday, it won’t last long.
“One round, I beat him. If I say I will, then I will.
“He will be knocked down by the first punch he eats. He’s going to hit something. “
The two opponents have done their fair share of trash talk during construction and Romero once again made no secret of how he felt about Davis.
“I don’t like ‘Tank’ as a person and I believe he will be unmasked in this match.
“He ducked me twice for fighting and the bad blood has been around since then. I’ve been calling him out since 2017. The only reason this fight was done is because I wanted it. He doesn’t want this. He wishes he was fighting some 126 or 122 pounder.”
Romero believes his power, precision, and explosiveness will be too much for the title winner and Nevada lightweight confident Davis is there to claim.
“Tell me about a fight where he didn’t get punched by some less powerful guys? I’m more accurate than anyone he’s ever fought. I am stronger and more explosive. It’s just common sense, he’s being knocked down. “
