Hyundai retro sports car concept enters production – report

At this stage, it remains unclear whether the so-called Hyundai Pony Coupe will receive the N Vision 74’s “high-performance hydrogen fuel cell hybrid” powertrain or whether it will be replaced with a full powertrain. all electric.

The Hyundai N Vision 74 rolling lab concept was first revealed last July along with the RN22e rolling lab concept announcing what Ioniq 6 WOMEN what it will look like.

The former features dual, rear-mounted electric motors that produce more than 500 kW of power and over 900 Nm of torque, along with a hydrogen fuel cell that produces 95 kW of maximum power to charge the battery. The claimed top speed is above 250km/h.

There’s a 62.4 kWh battery with 800W fast charging and a 4.2kg hydrogen tank that can be refueled in five minutes. That’s a significantly larger battery than Toyota Miraicombines a 5.6kg hydrogen tank with a 1.2kWh lithium-ion battery.

In essence, the N Vision 74 is a battery-powered car shaped like a hydrogen range extender.

Hyundai claims the range of the N Vision 74 concept is more than 600 km.

The N Vision 74 concept measures 4952mm long, 1995mm wide and 1331mm high, with a wheelbase of 2905mm.

It is 85mm longer, 88mm wide and 31mm lower than Competition BMW M8with a longer wheelbase of 78mm.

While the N Vision 74 concept retains the basic silhouette and unique B-pillars of the original Pony Coupe concept, it does feature some sports car-inspired additions such as a low, arched front splitter. inflated wheels, classic aerodynamic disc wheels, rear wheels. diffuser and a large rear spoiler.

One would expect a lot of these design elements to make their way into the production version.
