So many YouTubers can show off an atmosphere of power with some great A-roll setups. While it may seem like you need a dedicated studio space to do so, that’s not always the case, as this video shows you how to get a professional look on a budget.
Coming to you from DSLR video cameraCaleb Pike’s is a setup that can easily create a nice studio setup to give some video commentary. While the showpiece in this setup (and the most cash-consuming part of the $3,000 budget set by Pike) is Canon EOS R7. While the $1500 price tag is plenty for a “budget” setup, the camera also offers a lot in the way of video recording, shooting at 4K60 and in C-Log 3, which can help improve colors later on.
Along with other budget devices, such as Rode VideoMic Go II and the right amount of lighting and camera support, and you not only get the right studio lighting and sound setup, but you also have the ability to take all the gear with you on the go and go if needed.
Of particular note is the lighting equipment, single Amaran 100D . LED. The company is not a popular name like, Westcott or Rotolight, but working at a school that just equips my students with a bunch of these kits, I can say these bring left some serious bang for the coin. As he notes in the video, the light in his photos is only at 20 percent, so they can be really bright and offer plenty of options. Color temperatures are also adjustable, and they seem pretty solidly built, though time will pass in the hands of demanding college students.
Most importantly, Pike has arranged the whole thing in an area about the size of most bedrooms, as people often don’t have a large and unallocated space in their home for a studio.
