How to import and export images in Lightroom more efficiently

Two of the most basic tasks you’ll perform in Lightroom are importing and exporting images. When you’re working with large batches, both processes can take a significant amount of time, and so it’s worth taking the time to set up a consistent and efficient system. This great video tutorial will show you an efficient system to ensure that you don’t waste time importing and exporting photos in Lightroom.

Coming to you from Katelyn James, this great video tutorial will show you an efficient method to import and export photos in Lightroom. If you often come home with a large batch of photos, one of the best things you can do is enable full 1:1 preview generation as you import. This will increase the import time, but once it’s done, whenever you’re ready to edit, you won’t have to wait for the file to show up when you zoom in, which can be really annoying, as it makes interrupt your creative flow and maybe also add a fair amount of time to the whole thing. I like to do other work or have a cup of coffee while this goes on so I can edit smoothly later. Check out the video above for a full rundown from James.
