House of the Dragon Finale: We’re not over yet [Spoiler]the death of

In an attempt to intimidate his nephew, Aemond threatens to take Lucerys’ eyes and then pursue the young prince on dragonback. The situation escalated to a critical point when Lucerys’ dragon Arrax blew fire on Aemond’s dragon Vhagar. This action prompted Vhagar to pursue Arrax with all his might, killing the dragon and Rhaenyra’s son in the process.

Aemond clearly didn’t want this ending, as he shouted at the monster, “Vhagar, are not. No!”

Although fans of George RR Martin‘s novel Fire & Bloodthis inspired Game of Thrones prequel, already anticipating this ending, Lucerys’ death remains devastating to watch. Lucerys’ omission not only reinforces his mother’s decision to fight for the crown, confirming the bloody civil war in Targaryen (known as the Dance of the Dragons), but also implies that not at all members of the Targaryen family may be at risk.

We are also such fans of the sweet young prince that we were simply saddened to see him go.
