It is quite common for passengers and crew of whaling trips to see an incredible variety of animals, including dolphins, sea lions and whales. But no one has ever witnessed the miracle of a gray whale giving birth before, let alone captured it on camera!
To experience this firsthand is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
At first, when eyewitnesses saw the orange-red cloud underwater surrounding the majestic gray whale, they thought they were witnessing a worst-case scenario. But instead, they found the exact opposite. New life is entering the world right before their eyes.

After seeing the mother and child swimming together, bystanders were able to spot the cub emerging from the water.
