Honest Review: CEO Sunday Riley’s Afterglow Gel Lotion

I tested it before Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream, and I love it. In fact, I have friends who consider it one of the best skin care products they’ve ever used. However, I would always choose a hard-working vitamin C serum over a potentially acne-causing face cream. And while Sunday Riley’s Rich Hydration Cream didn’t work for me, Afterglow was a completely different story.

For starters, the texture is light. At first glance, it may seem like any other creamy moisturizer, but as soon as you start massaging it into your skin, it transforms into a light, cooling gel that leaves you feeling refreshed. Think of splashing cool water on your face. Also, it’s packed an impressive antioxidant punch. Formulated with THD ascorbate, an oil-stable form of vitamin C, which helps protect skin from damage caused by external aggressors like UV rays and pollution – just like my vitamin C serums.

What really However, convinced me to switch my usual serums to this cream. It leaves skin bright and radiant without giving off any kind of disco ball shimmer. It contains pearl-lime extract that gently exfoliates to brighten skin while hydrating and protecting. Basically, this moisturizer’s ingredient list is so impressive that, as a skincare enthusiast, I’m happy to give up my usual favorites in favor of it. I just put it on, turn my SPF on and I’m good to go. I don’t even feel tempted to put on makeup. If you want my brutally honest opinion, save your money on a vitamin C serum that costs three times and go for this glowing skin-boosting moisturizer instead.
