Honda Hornet 2023 Full Specifications and Disclosure
2023 Honda Hornet
Honda’s new CB750 Hornet was launched in Europe today and now we can see the new machine with a cover, giving you Honda CB750 Hornet 2023 details and specifications. looks pretty nice.
Honda in general does a very good job in this bike category. We’re big fans of the CBR500R/CB500F/CB500X family at MCNews.com.au and we hope this new CB750 Hornet elevates things even further in terms of value.
To make the motor as compact as possible, there are no balance gears; the main drive gear doubles the duty and also rotates the balance shaft.
The water pump is hidden inside the left engine cover and does not require a water-cooled oil cooler.
The cylinders use Ni-SiC (Nickel-Silicon Carbide) coating, which is also used in the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CRF450R.
A power-assisted clutch/sliding clutch promises light gearshift feel, reduced gearshifts, and management of rear wheel slip during heavy braking and quick gear changes.
Throttle-By-Wire engine control offers three default driving modes, tailoring the engine’s delivery and feel to suit the driver’s conditions and intentions; they are easy to switch and manage between the left hand drive mode switch and the TFT display.
There are 3 levels of Engine Power (EP), Engine Brake (EB) and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with Integrated Wheel Control available; HSTC can also be turned off. The riding modes offer different combinations of each parameter.
“SPORT” mode delivers maximum performance with minimal intervention. “STANDARD” is a well-balanced setting for everyday riding. “RAIN” offers the least amount of power delivery, while “USER” allows the driver to choose between 3 settings for each and save this setting for future use.
The seat height of 795mm is very manageable and the seating position is fairly upright, but with the feet slightly rearward for natural control and wide handlebars for leverage.
The extensive spec list is headlined by the 5-inch TFT color display. It offers four types of speed/rpm display (hand or bar, depending on driver preference) as well as gauges/fuel consumption, drive mode selection/engine parameters, box selectable gear and a customizable shift point on the tachometer.
Also integrated into the interface is the Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HVCS), which links drivers to their Android and IOS smartphones on the go and enables voice management talk phone calls, messages, music and navigation. For the first time, HSVCS will also be accessible on IOS smartphones. Helmet-mounted headset and smartphone connected to the console via Bluetooth are required; HVCS can also be managed using the buttons on the left gear-switch.
The Hornet’s steel diamond frame is lightweight at just 16.6kg, but Honda promises that it provides an extremely strong platform, with a balance of stiffness to give the feel and set geometry of a agility.
At 190 kg, it feels light and agile. With a pair of 296 mm discs and Nissin radian brake calipers at the front, it should pull up easily.
Hopefully the Showa 41mm SFF-BP fork and preload-adjustable rear shock are set up a bit stiffer than the European-developed Hondas, for us that will be the real question. … Some images released with the full travel kit suggest that the machine is already set up to take the load well.
The new Hornet is expected to be available in Australia in the second quarter of 2023 but Honda Australia has yet to give any specific pricing.
