HOA pulled man’s car before his funeral: Report

Hhome owners association (HOA) do things like check on neighbors and keep the streets clean, but many times Surname Maybe Also One annoying – ask me how I know. In rare cases, they can be downright horrible. by miami WPLG recently report how a flower pull vehicle owned by one of its deceased residentsright when his wife was planning his funeral.

Richard Cousley died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 59, leaving his wife, Dori, and his two Dodge Chargers parked in the Plantation Racquet Club, the neighborhood where he and his wife lived for more than 20 years. Busy with planning his funeral, sI almost forgot the cars were parked in the community’place. That’s when HOA does it move.

“There’s no need to do this, it’s not necessary,” Cousley said. “Imagine waking up the morning of your husband’s funeral and the cars are gone.”

Richard’s two black Dodge Chargers were towed by the homeowners association. They are in All County Towing and are accumulating hundreds of dollars in fees increasing daily.

That’s money this teacher’s assistant doesn’t have.

Dori said she called her HOA president, who she said gave permission to pull.

Cousley said: “I went crazy and cried when I heard his car was towed. “She knew he was dead. She knew we were planning a funeral.”

Cousley said she asked HOA president Susan Seman “why are you pulling his car after all he’s done for you?”

Seman hung up the phone, she said.

WPLG reporter Jeff Weinsier then personally contacted the HOA president. Her explanation for what happened was not most convincing.

“She didn’t call anyone about anything,” Seman told Local 10 News reporter Jeff Weinsier.

“But you know he’s dead?” Weinsier asked. “Sir, how many times do I have to answer that question for you? I’ve heard rumors going around the property,” Seman said. “I can’t talk to you (other than) for anything other than to tell you the scary rules,” Seman said. “She knows them.”

Seman said that HOA rules state that a car cannot be parked in a guest spot for longer than a month, which is clearly a violation that causes the cars to be towed, though. WPLG also noticed several other cars on the property that appeared to be breaking the rules but were not towed. In the end, the towing company had some sympathy: WPLG said it offered to give up fees and support for the widow of the man who sold the car, although perhaps never should have started like that with.
