HISA reaches milestone in number of registrations


More than 70,000 Thoroughbred race participants and managers nationwide are now registered with the Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA), in compliance with the HISA Registration Rules effective July 1. 2022. To date, 30,061 insured persons and 41,953 equine insureds have been registered.

As previously announced, HISA will require compliance with its Rules of Registration in order to be able to race starting March 27. Insured Persons and Horses who do not comply with the rules will not be able to participate in the race. until they register on the HISA Portal.

“Achieving 70,000 subscribers is an important milestone,” said HISA CEO Lisa Lazarus. “We are grateful for the cooperation of the vast majority of HISA jurisdiction race entrants who are now registered, and we strongly urge anyone who has not registered to do so by March 27 to continue to be able to race. With the support from the racing community, we are continuing to strengthen the safety and integrity of our great sport.”

Race participants who have not registered themselves or their horses with HISA can register at hisaus.org/registration.
