Recio said: “I fell in love with him when I saw him at the annual sale. “I was very lucky to get it. I thought it would sell for more than that; in the right place, at the right time. I’m so happy for them (the ranchers) that they stay in one piece. The horse did everything right. Good horses make good riders.”
All smiling after signing the ticket, Desormeaux was confident that the precocious pony would have a bright future.
“He doesn’t have a fast rhythm like most of these 8-mile runners, but his movements are fluid and he still comes in: 10/5 (with) a great gallop , so again, that’s what we’re looking for—a horse with speed but most importantly efficiency.It’s going to California to prepare for the Breeders’ Cup Minor (G1). ).”
