Hiperon Fosslin – EV or SUV hydrogen from Malaysia?


This is one of the latest automotive startups to emerge – Hiperon Motors, a Malaysian company that has produced the first digital drawings of an electric or hydrogen-powered luxury crossover called the Fosslin, Spoon Cart reported. According to Hiperon, the name Fosslin comes from combining the Norwegian words ‘foss’ for waterfall and ‘lyn’ for lightning.

Little is known about Hiperon’s origins beyond its own claim to be from Malaysia, except for a brief description that implies that the company is “from Asia to the Americas” – indicating a hub of operations. in the Americas – and goes on to claim that the Fosslin was designed in Europe by the automotive design studio a laboratory.

According to the Hiperon website, the Fosslin, measuring 4,880 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,689 mm high with a 2,950 mm wheelbase, will position the startup’s electric/hydrogen vehicle in between the Tesla Model X and Model. Y, although its wheelbase measurement is roughly equal to that of the larger Tesla.

Key stats provided by the Hiperon website claim a range of 450 km with a 95 kWh battery pack, with the powertrain making 480 hp and 670 Nm of torque and weighing 2,485 kg. Its claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time is five seconds, with a top speed “up to 260 km/h”. Battery-powered or hydrogen-powered, CO2 emissions are claimed to be zero.

Key features according to the Hiperon website, the Fosslin gets 20-inch alloy wheels with four-season tyres, while its coupe-SUV form factor has a panoramic glass roof. Features LED lighting in the grille and also has door opening lights or puddle lights.

Safety features include a suite of systems that include a 360-degree camera package, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, lane assist, and more. Conveniences will include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, hotspot Wi-Fi access, 3D sound system, wireless charging dock, six USB-C ports, and a 17-inch OLED display, although images of the company have not been shown.

Based on Spoon Cart, Hiperon has promised that Fosslin will be available in Asia, Europe, and North America, though pricing hasn’t been revealed. This first run will include five battery-powered and five hydrogen-powered units, with the first units to be delivered in the third quarter of this year.
