Happy New Year everybody! 2023 is the year of the rabbit, so I thought now would be a good time to review the different rabbit Pokemon out there. Granted, every character may not appear in every game. For example, we know the lines Buneary, Bunnelby and Nidoran, as well as Minun and Plusle, are not in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. But it can still be helpful to go through the different characters that have appeared over the years. Especially since, like Cinderace, things like Tera raidexpand, or pokemon homepage compatibility updates may cause them to show up in more games.
Azumarill
Azumarill is one of those weird situations where as the character evolves, it becomes more like a rabbit. Azurill and Marill are both more like mice. By the time this water and fairy has matured, it is essentially a rabbit. Also, it’s a great character to use thanks to moves like Belly Drum. You can find this new friend in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet right away. It also participates Pokemon Unite in 2022.
Plusle and Minun
A team with Plusle and/or Minun probably won’t set the world on fire, but these are perfectly recognizable rabbit Pokemon. Both are non-evolutionary types of electricity. They are pretty good at supporting other members of the team with moves like Baton Pass and Helping Hands.
Buneary and Lopunny
Both Buneary and its evolved form Lopunny, as well as Mega Lopunny, are two of the Pokemon that are most likely to appear when you think about rabbit-based Pokemon. Both Buneary and Lopunny are normal types, although the Mega form is also added to the battle type. It also tends to be pretty strong, with moves like the Headbutt and High Jump Kick helping it out.
Bunnelby and Diggersby
Bunnelby and Diggersby are two fake rabbits that can hit hard! It starts out as a single normal type, until it evolves into Diggersby and becomes a normal and normal type. It’s immunity to both electric and ghost attacks once fully grown which is a big boon. Its stats are solid and moves like Earthquake can be of great help.
Scorbunny, Raboot and Cinderace
Like Azumarill and Lopunny, Cinderace is one of the more useful and versatile bunny Pokemon you can add to your party. After all, that tends to happen to those just starting out in the series! This line is a simple fire all the way. However, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Tera Raid one is a type of battle Tera, which is really useful for some of its moves. Its signature attack, Pyro Ball, is great.
Nidoran, Nidorino, Nidoqueen and Nidoking
I know by the time Nidoqueen and Nidoking came out, these Pokemon looked like kaiju, but Nidoran started out as a cute rabbit-like friend! Both the male and female versions have the same front teeth and long rabbit-like ears. They’re also some of the most recognizable Poison-Type Pokemon out there, with both having poison and dual-type on the ground in the Nidoqueen and Nidoking stages. Also, Nidoqueen’s Superpower and Nidoking’s Megahorn can be useful. Make sure they also know Toxic or some other move that can poison an opponent, and you should get a good handle on this Pokemon, possibly, possibly, possibly loosely related to rabbits!
