Coming to you from Mads Peter Iversen, this great video tutorial will give you some helpful tips on creating better landscape photos. One tip that particularly stands out is the importance of learning how to simplify an image. There is often a tendency, especially in landscape photography, to produce images that are overly ornate and complex. This is often a simple consequence of using a wide-angle lens for such work. That’s also why packing a telephoto lens can be just as effective. The simple act of excluding elements from the frame using a narrower angle of view can help you create more direct and powerful images that we’re not used to seeing in this genre. Next time you go out, consider shooting a longer lens along with your usual wide angle. Watch the video above for the full rundown from Iversen.
