Ireland manager Gordon Elliott is in superb form heading to Prestbury Park this weekend. He’s won with 5 of the last 11 runners-up and nearly everything he runs currently goes on target. Elliott has had a very rough 12 months but is doing his best to leave that episode behind and rebuild his somewhat tarnished reputation.
Cullentra House is hoping for a great weekend at Cheltenham this week and they have a nice little team crossing the water. On Friday they have two big chances and the two combine to make 34-1 dual. It wouldn’t be surprising if both win. He means business.

Alpha Des Obeaux was a previous class activity, ranked 5 times in 1st grade in hurdles. He’s a long way from now and a very unreliable sort these days but he ran well in Cross Country at the Festival back in March when he finished fourth behind the Tiger Roll. If he can regain such form, then he has a chance in the field, where race conditions are more forgiving as it is a handicap.
3.30 Cheltenham
Turn off your Rocco got to take a penalty in the 2nd Grade Ballymore Novices Competition but it was a great opportunity to show us he was made from deeper waters. Elliott’s 5-year-old looks very improved after bold wins over Listowel and Limerick. He will come here fit and at the top of his game, and the ground will suit him. This race is usually for a horse carrying a bit of weight. It tends to suit a horse that is classy enough and he may just be.
