Lee from The Asher House not only nurtures animals in need, he opens his heart and gives them the love they’re lacking. When Lee first saw Millie, he knew this dog had a cruel life. She is skinny and hesitant about everything and everyone. Millie is about to shut down, but she still yearns for human contact. This desire motivated Lee even more. As Millie slowly approached Lee as he stood outside the exam room, the compassionate man knelt down. She stepped forward with her head bowed. But when her eyes met his, she knew the angel on earth was a good man. She raised her head and approached him. Lee put Millie in his car to take her to The Asher House. There, in the back seat, she closed her eyes and slept. The comfort she felt was amazing. A peace filled her body knowing that she was in loving arms. Upon returning to her new foster home, Millie encounters a herd full of animals. Her new friends are crucial to her recovery.
