Waterfalls are some of the most popular landscape photography subjects, providing the ability to add a sense of movement to other still scenes and take advantage of natural paths to take your viewer’s eye through the scene. The great thing about waterfalls is that you don’t really need a large waterfall to create a sense of grandeur. Just remember your opinion rule. Using the wide angle to magnify the perspective and getting up close can recreate that feeling of vivid and vast movement. Living in Ohio, I don’t have access to monumental waterfalls, but I can still create compelling photos even with waterfalls that are only a few feet high.
