Hatton says if you’re angry you shouldn’t touch Whyte

Ricky Hatton has urged Tyson Fury not to get involved in the fight against Dillian Whyte as they fight at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

Hatton, a former two-weight world champion, was in the corner for the Briton in his first bout with Deontay Wilder before Fury’s coach Ben Davison left coach Ben Davison for Sugar Hill. Since then, ‘The Gypsy King’ has won its last two matches, both against Wilder, and used much more aggressive tactics on
every occasion.

“I think it’s a great clash of styles. It will be interesting to see what style Tyson uses in this fight,” Hatton told BT Sport.

“I think Tyson might have to go back to his old Tyson for fighting Dillian. In terms of speed, ability and movement, Tyson outperforms Dillian by head and shoulders. The more Tyson stands there and trades like he’s finished in his last two fights, the more chances he has for Dillian, I think. Dillian will hit you and
give birth to you. I think if Dillian had hit Tyson fully first, I was just wondering how often my mate would be able to get off his ass with these heavy knocks. “

Fury told Carl Frampton in a recent interview with BT Sport that he plans to ‘Landing heavy, big artillery from round one’ next month. The WBC heavyweight champion believes Whyte, his must-have opponent, is tailored for him. Hatton says Fury needs to be reasonable and believe him
will treat Whyte with respect.

“He has to be a bit more responsive in this next game and pick his moments especially early.

Pick him early, but box him out,” Hatton said. “Remove his wound first and then put his feet straight down. I think he will
be a little more cautious and show Dillian the respect he deserves because Dillian can hit it.

“I just think he will give up all his advantages if he goes up against Dillian. That’s what Dillian likes.

Dillian likes a big toe. Dillian loves a slugfest. No disrespect to Dillian but Tyson has more attributes. He has that height, that reach, he can go south, he can go mainstream, he can stand there, he can box and move, he can use his defense and sit on the rope.

To me, Tyson would be a fool to put all their attributes on and just go to war because that’s what Dillian likes. ”
