I had Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Hair & Scalp Strengthening Oil available for this little experiment. For starters, I love that this oil is designed for people with coarse, curly, textured hair — a brief description of my hair. Although it has recently surged in popularity again thanks to TikTok, this oil has actually been around for a minute. In the past, I’ve used it occasionally to help combat breakage during birth control, but never really committed to using it regularly. Around this time, I decided to use this product daily for a few weeks to see if I noticed any difference in my hair growth.
Overall, I’ve noticed a bit of growth, but honestly, it’s not significant or impressive enough—that’s why I didn’t include any photos here. My hair is also extremely curly so it’s hard to see the growth unless I straighten it. However, what I really like about this oil is how soft it leaves my hair after using it. It also tames the fly pretty well and I feel a bit more confident when I wear my natural curls outside to run errands. It can also work as a brand-name split ends treatment, so I tested it that way, too. In that respect, I’ve definitely noticed an improvement. Although I only used it for a few weeks before writing this article, I think if I continue using it, the results will definitely be there.
I mostly decided to use it regularly after my curiosity got better, I don’t necessarily have a desire to grow super long hair, but I will continue to use it three to four times a week for coming months. My hair also feels stronger and I’ve noticed less hair on the comb since I added this product to my routine. Basically, if you’re looking to grow your hair out, I’m sure it’s worth a try. Results will vary from person to person, but I think if you’re patient and use it consistently, you’ll definitely notice that it speeds up your hair growth over time.
