Grandparents accused of killing 5-year-old to dirty themselves
The mother of a 5-year-old girl who was reportedly beaten to death by her grandparents for making her dirty has spoken out on the matter for the first time since the case broke out in Chicago earlier this month. FOOD 32 report.

Klent Elwoods allegedly confessed to hitting his 5-year-old granddaughter with a belt dozens of times for defecating on himself, according to reports. NBCChicago.
“I have run out of tears. I looked at him like a monster. I don’t even want to carry his last name anymore,” Kimberly told the outlet.
Klent Elwoods and his wife, Lisa Jonescharged with the murder of Moore last Friday, according to ABC 7Chicago. They face life in prison if convicted.
On Monday, prosecutors in Illinois revealed the horrifying details of Moore’s death. They added that she had been beaten for more than two months before her death.
According to the report, the beating was attributed to several instances of the girl getting herself dirty.

Children’s injuries are more suitable for victims of car accidents, grandparents coldly call 911 in court
NBC News reports that Jada has injuries more consistent with car crash victims than physical abuse injuries.
Klent Elwood’s chilling 911 call was also played in court, where he could be heard admitting to having “hit my little niece”.
He said: “I hit my little niece, and now she’s gone.
According to NBC Chicago, first responders arrived and found Jada “lying on the couch completely naked.” Elwoods allegedly said he was “a little too rough with my nephew” in the back of a police cruiser.
Paramedics managed to revive her with CPR before taking her to the nearby Corner Children’s Hospital. She is believed to have died there shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, the newspaper reported.

Mother entrusts her little daughter to grandparents to take care of after falling into a difficult time
Elwoods and Jones allegedly began stalking Jada after visiting her and her mother, Kimberly, in Georgia in March.
Kim told her parents she had “fallen at a difficult time” and needed them to watch over their granddaughter while she stood up, NBC Chicago reported.
Officers eventually executed a search warrant at Elwoods and Jones’ home in suburban Chicago.
As reported by FOX 32, they found a belt and a pair of children’s shorts with dirty underwear. Investigators also found a notarized letter from the girl’s mother giving them custody of Jada.
“I think that man is a stand-up. And he really is a monster,” she told ABC 7 Chicago. “I love my daughter so much. I admire her. And I want her to know that even up there she is loved.”

Judge rejects grandparent bond, GoFundMe sets up, vigil held in Jada’s honor
Meanwhile, a judge has denied Klent Elwoods and Lisa Jones’ relationship. The two will return to court on August 2, according to ABC 7.
Kimberly has since established a GoFundMe account to raise money to bring Jada’s body back from Chicago to Georgia. When this article was published, the fundraising campaign had raised $2,600 out of a $10,000 goal.
