Gran Turismo movie trailer features David Harbor yelling at teenagers

In just over three months, Gran Turismo movie will be in theaters. like a long time Gran Turismo fans, my expectations are in the basement. Movies about racing are very popular Miss. Movies based on video games, maybe more. But out of all the game franchises that can make for good cinema, Gran Turismo won’t land on the favorable end of my list, because Gran Turismo is a game about doing something in real life that you can directly make a movie about it. On Tuesday, we treat the first trailerand I feel a little better about it now.

In case you lost it:

That’s because the movie features David Harbor, doing what he’s best at: yelling at teenagers, this time with the help of a loudspeaker. Listen to yourself:

The film is based on the story of Jann Mardenborough, one of the winners of the GT Academy competition sponsored by Nissan more than a decade ago that turned gamers into motorsports racers. Archie Madekwe plays Mardenborough, who happens to be seen playing a lot Gran Turismo 7 In the movie. Of course, GT7 comes out 11 years after GT Academy, so think of it as a modern-day retelling.

We can see countless motorsport themed posters and memorabilia around Mardenborough’s room, not to mention a small collection dating back to the olden days. Gran Turismo 2. Jann has Opening Gran Turismo 5 And Gran Turismo 5 – there is no doubt about his credibility. I wonder how he will feel about Our ratings of the entire franchise.

Of course, it all really started when Mardenborough made the shortlist, and for the first time we saw the rock-hardened coach Jack Salter — played by Harbor — and Orlando Bloom’s Danny Moore on-screen for the first time. image. Salter’s job is to turn these “couch-surfing nerds” into real athletes, which involves relentlessly verbally insulting them and making them run laps on a certain track. At one point, one of them was crawling on the grass. The pressure is clearly on.

If you know how the story goes, then Mardenborough rose above all of his competitors and earned himself a spot in the Nissan factory program, which also saw him competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I have a few caveats, other than that director Neill Blomkamp and the company need to get straight to the point. Gran Turismo Logos. This is a scene from the Japanese trailer, colored inappropriately like on the alphabet when Sony announced to start filming in November:

And here it’s missing a “G” in “GT”, if you look closely at the bottom right of the far wall:

Those should be easy fixes. I suspect that less work could be done at this late stage of production to work around this at the end of the trailer, where LMP2 takes off in a rather awkward way:
