Governor Greg Abbott sends 50 migrants to VP Kamala Harris’ home

According to ABC News, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a bus carrying 50 migrants to Kamala Harris’ home today. This comes just two days after the republican governor sent two buses to her Naval Observatory. The migrants were mainly from Venezuela, and there was one infant in the caravan. Governor Abbott previously announced on Twitter that he had sent two buses carrying migrants to the VP’s residence on Thursday. He tweeted, “We’re sending migrants to her backyard calling on the Biden Administration to do its job and secure the border.”

Governor Abbott and other Republican leaders from border states have been sending migrants to Democratic-led cities for months. Reports say leaders are calling this a protest against President Joe Biden’s immigration policies amid an influx of migrants at the southern border. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released about 100 migrants outside VP Harris’ home in Washington DC and on Martha’s Vineyard.

Unfortunately, some Democratic leaders say they did not receive any advance warning that migrants would arrive. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said the state has offered to voluntarily transport migrants from Martha’s Vineyard to a temporary shelter at Joint Base Cape Cod. One Venezuelan immigrant, Victor, spoke to ABC News reporter Armando Garcia about his experience.

Victor explained that he was there when someone asked migrants to sign a list to get a seat on the plane. He advised that he not sign up because the offer sounded too suspicious and didn’t fit his eventual New York City plans. Victor told reporters he feels other migrants have been duped into making those flights and understands why they took the risk. “It’s complicated because they tell you you’re going to have everything you want, but when they come in, people are basically lost,” he said.

VP Harris did not address migrants at her home, but President Joe Biden criticized the migrants leaving as “simply wrong.” “It’s non-American, it’s reckless, and we have a process to manage migrants at the border,” he said at a gala dinner for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. “We are working to make sure it is safe, orderly and humane. Republican officials should not interfere with that process by performing these political stunts.”

Roommate, what do you think about this?
