Goose pecks on the door of a police patrol car to report a ‘chicken’ situation

If you’ve ever encountered a goose, you know they can take territory. Oh, who are we kidding? Goose can be mean! As a childhood victim of a goose chase, I can attest to their bad nature. If I close my eyes and relive that moment, the memory of those outstretched wings and the blaring sirens rushing toward me still makes me shiver.

So, when a goose pecks at the door of a police patrol car, the officer probably thinks he is about to be blown up by the goose. But it turns out, the mother goose is in need of help with her baby goose. However, Police Sergeant Cincinnati PD James Givens wasn’t sure when the first goose knocked on the door.

Telling the story turned out to be a baby goose rescue with WCPO 9, Sgt. Givens explained that he was taking a quiet minute to enjoy a cup of coffee in the parking lot near Mill Creek when a goose began pecking at his driver’s side door.

“I thought maybe he was hungry,” Sgt said. gift. “I threw a small piece of bread out the window, but it didn’t eat, just pecked, then walked away, came back to peck again.”

That’s when Givens followed the anxious goose, and as he explained, “She took me straight to the baby. It messed up.”

And it’s not just a piece of twine with a goose on its leg, but a plastic ribbon attached to a balloon. Sergeant Givens radioed to request the rescue of the animals, but to no one, Officer Cecilia Charron arrived at the scene. And seeing the baby goose in need of help, she immediately got to work, trying to pick the baby up to get the balloon string removed from its cute little webbed feet and legs.

Savings for the day

Things turned tense when Mama Goose accused Officer Charron. Even Sgt. Givens stepped back behind the camera, thinking this was when the attack would come. But as Officer Charron explained, the mother was just distracting the baby from running into the water with the balloon string still tied.

Officer Charron said: “It was heading towards Mill Creek, so I went and redirected it. “I stepped on the balloon, and then I picked up the baby.” With the wild goose in hand, Charron began to untie the rope, and “it was just wound and wound and wound.”

But after a few minutes of carefully untying the rope with an anxious whistle like a concerto, Charron freed the baby and was on his way!

Instead of running to the mother goose, the baby goose jumped over the mother and plunged into the water. In the end, however, the baby was saved and the mother goose was relieved. Both swim away, unharmed, no chicken. And both cops get out of this situation without being attacked by angry geese!
