Gmail is being changed
Your Gmail is about to get a new look! The long-awaited rollout of Google’s email service brings a whole new workspace experience. Google confirmed in a blog that starting January 27, the new Gmail UI will be rolled out to scheduled release domains, which is expected to be completed by February 3, 2023. Gmail’s newly updated interface will not only offer email services, but also video conferencing and chat options, all in one place.
Gmail changes will bring a new sidebar on the left side of Gmail that will bring quick links to chat, Space, Google Meet and other email folders like labels. In addition to the built-in link, you’ll also get new shortcuts to other Google services like Calendar and Tasks without opening a new tab. Moreover, you will see all your notifications in one place.
How to get the new Gmail interface
Do not worried! You don’t have to do anything. The new Gmail interface will be updated by default today or in the coming days if you haven’t already.
Therefore, Who will all get it? All Google Working space User accounts excluding Workspace Essentials customers will have the new Gmail interface.
Furthermore, Google has also confirmed that the new interface will become the standard experience for Gmail users without providing any option to revert to the original UI. The Gmail change announcement was first made in February 2022 in an effort to make Google Workspace services, such as Chat and Google Meet, closer to Gmail. Most users were able to try this new interface before November 2022. However, in the meantime, Google has provided the option to revert back to the original interface whenever users want. Sadly, this won’t be possible anymore if you don’t like the new Gmail interface. However, you can change Gmail’s theme, inbox type, and other settings when accessing the quick settings menu.
