- Despite Discontinuation, Chevy Bolt EV to Outsell Blazer EV in First Half of 2024

According to General Motors’ most recent financial results and sales update, the Chevrolet Bolt EV is no longer in production, but it still outsold the Chevy Blazer EV in the first half of this year.
GM delivered 8,414 Bolt EVs and their crossover-like Bolt EUV variants in the first two quarters of the year, compared to 7,234 Blazer EVs. However, in Q2 alone, Blazer EV deliveries outpaced Bolt EV/EUV deliveries by 6,634 and 1,374, respectively.

This difference reflects the fact that Bolt EV/EUV deliveries have slowed since production ends in late 2023, while Blazer EV Production has picked up speed. But the reality is that the Blazer EV hasn’t quite escaped Bolt EV production discontinued Sales figures for the year show how slowly that growth has been.
GM technically Blazer EV deliveries begin last July, and it’s been slow going since then. It struggling to speed up EV deliveries by 2023, mainly due to increased problems Ultium Battery. GM reported delivering 21,930 electric vehicles in the second quarter, up 34% from the first quarter and 40% from the same period last year, showing the company has begun to turn the corner. But previous targets were supply 400,000 electric vehicles by 2023—and then the first half of 2024—is clearly broken.

Those few sales do at least include a large number of sought-after “conquest” customers who are trading in from other brands. GM claims 40 percent of Blazer EV buyers are new customers, coming from rival brands like Jeep, Ford, Hyundai, and Kia.
The Bolt EV will only be gone for one model year. CEO Mary Barra has said that the 2026 Bolt EV will be America’s most affordable electric car and will move to a LFP battery chemistry to help make that happen.
