Giant dog casually shopping at Dollar General alone, then refuses to leave
Bentley is a 135-pound dog, so it stands out no matter where it is. But he doesn’t let that stop him from going on adventures at will. One day, the giant mixed dog escaped from his Florida home and wandered over to Dollar General to see what they sold. He browsed the store for hours, and when it was time to leave, he wouldn’t budge.
Dollar General employees didn’t want to force their four-legged customer out of the store, but they also didn’t want him wandering the streets alone. So they enlisted the help of the police, which resulted in some of the cutest scenes on camera.
An unusual customer
The giant dog managed to break through his gate and go for a walk on his own. He decided to go see Dollar General a few blocks away. He entered through the automatic door and began to browse the shelves by himself.
Since he wasn’t bothering anyone or trying to steal anything, the staff let him roam around to see if his men would come looking for him. After a few hours, Bentley was still in the store, but it was time to close. He refuses to accept that all customers need to leave the business and he doesn’t have a ride home.

So the workers had no choice but to call the police about the customer who was refusing to cooperate. When Bradenton Police arrived, one of the officers installed a body camera to document the unusual predicament. Immediately, the staff showed them the dog in the back room of the store. Luckily, Bentley was very friendly, but he had such a good time that he didn’t want to leave!
The police officers spent a while trying to figure out what to do. After walking around the store with the dog for a while, they tied him up and guided him to the front door.
Last closing time
Fortunately, Bentley was able to get away that night without any problems. His men showed up shortly after police officers took him out. Bentley’s dad was very worried about this puppy, so he was grateful that Dollar General officers and police officers took great care of him.
Bentley has no intention of leaving home. He just wanted to see if Dollar General was selling his favorite toys and snacks. Then he ends up getting too comfortable at the store. Since he has such a sweet face, no one can be mad at him for extending the closing time.
Now, Bentley has returned home with a great story to tell. According to police officers, he has a microchip, so if he tries to sneak away again, he will hopefully find his way home even if he doesn’t go to his favorite store.
