Ten months later the former couple – who share a son milan10 and sasha8—announcing their breakup, Gerard is sharing why he chose not to comment on the end of their relationship, saying El Pais that “everyone has a responsibility to try to do what’s best for their child.”
“It’s about protecting them,” the athlete, 36, told the publication in a recent interview via translator. “That’s the job of all parents with children. That’s what I focus on and that’s my job as a father.”

“I just do what I want,” he continued. “The day I die, I’ll look back and hope I’ve always done what I wanted. I want to be true to myself. I won’t spend money cleaning up my image.”
