HoYoVerse background art revealed for Dehya and Mika who will appear as playable characters in the future The Genshin effect update. Both have appeared in the game. Dehya is a main character in the Sumeru Archon Quest. Meanwhile, Mika debuted in “Ballads and beer“events in a short cutscene.
Dehya will be a Pyro character. From our interactions with her in the story, we know that her nickname is Flame-Mane and that she is a famous mercenary who occasionally takes on other jobs. Her Constellation name is Mantichora (or manticore). In Greek mythology, the manticore had the head of a man, the body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion. This could be a reference to both Dehya’s lion motif (in both design and nickname) and her desert heritage.

On the other hand, Mika will be a Cryo character. He was part of Eula’s Reconnaissance Company, and he was Huffman’s younger brother. Many members of the Knights of Favonius mentioned him in their lines. During his brief appearance in the game, we can see that he is rather shy around the Traveler. His constellation, Palumbus, means Wooden Dove.

The Genshin effect Version 3.4 will introduce Alhaitham and Knife Dao as playable characters. So it will be a while before you can drag Dehya or Mika in The Genshin effect. Version 3.4 will be available on January 18, 2023. This version will also be available Lantern Ritual Eventsin which you can choose a free 4 star Liyue character for your party.
