At the beginning of the new millennium, Sega created a game called Cosmic Smash. It came to select video games in Japan and Europe before releasing only in Japan on consoles.
Set in fresh minimalist spaces animated by music and graphic design, the game is a unique blend of sports and puzzle action. Think low gravity secret meet block breaker. A true trip to the edge of space and time.

The game was seemingly out of existence, but has quickly emerged as an all-time icon of design and style, one of those rare games that looks, sounds, and feels unlike any other. which you have played before.
While the game feels like it came from an alternate universe, it completely covers the most fundamental part that makes the game so great: the boom. If I ever wanted to travel to a virtual world, it would be this one: a place where I can relax on the go, in spaces that are attractive, neat and easy to style, no there’s the stress, the noise, and the garishness of everyday work. .

This world must come to VR, but building beautiful worlds needs great people.
While our planet was in lockdown, I collaborated with a dream group of people whose work I admire. From VR pioneers Wolf & Wood, with whom I built the PS5 and PSVR2 games The Last Worker along with top designers Cory Schmitz (Rez Infinite, Sound Shapes) and Arkotype (Polytron), musicians Ken Ishii (Rez Infinite) and Danalogue (The Comet is Coming, Soccer 96), art director Rob Davis ( The Motherless Oven) and sound designer Dan Pugsley (Alba: A Wild Animal Adventure).
Together, we set out to reimagine the beloved classic for VR and online gaming. To my surprise, Sega trusted us.
Here’s a first look at our game, C-Smash VRS.
VRS stands for VR and Versus. On March 23, you can sample both when we release the C-Smash VRS demo for PS VR2 on the PlayStation Store, you can enjoy this demo with another player online or in mode practice alone. I can’t wait to show you a virtual reality that we could only dream of until now.
