Genshin Impact is the Most Tweeted Game on Twitter in 2021
Twitter has released a list of the most tweeted about video games, influencers, events and e-sports apparel of 2021 and The Genshin effect take the top spot. Next is the battle royale Apex Legends and Stars. Meanwhile, in 2020 heavyweight celebrities like Mule and Fortnite slight drop in the rankings.
According to Twitter, there are an estimated 2.4 billion tweets about the game by 2021. This is up 14% from Year 2020. Q4 2021 is arguably the biggest quarter for video game conversations on social media platforms. Specifically, Twitter flagged conversations around NFT, new game releases and live e-sports events as the main driving force.
In terms of video game titles, there are a number of games that stand out in 2021. Notably, The Genshin effect climbing from eighth place in 2020 to top in 2021 on Twitter. Similarly, EA’s battle royale title Apex Legends from ninth to runner-up. Stars went from sixth to third. While games like Minecraft trying to climb back to the top 10, Disney: Twisted-Wonderland and Identity DRAW not in the list. Other titles like Final Fantasy, Fate / Grand Order, and Pull out the knife continue to maintain their popularity.
